Privacy notice: Mood Music Discovery

Mood Music Discovery lets you search Nova Sounds' released music catalogue from ChatGPT, Claude and other AI assistants. This notice explains what data the app receives and how we handle it. It adds to our general privacy policy at https://novasounds.se/privacy-policy, which covers our other services and describes your rights. Nova Sounds AB, org. no. 559411-8324, Sibyllegatan 17, 114 42 Stockholm, Sweden, is the data controller. How to connect and use the app is described at www.novasounds.app/discovery.
1. What we receive
You do not need a Nova Sounds account to use Mood Music Discovery, and we do not ask for your name or email address.
When the assistant uses the app, it sends us the details of your request: the search text you wrote or the assistant wrote for you (for example "calm piano music for a rainy scene"), any filters such as mood, instruments, vocals or tempo, and track identifiers (ISRCs). If you ask for a licensing enquiry, it also sends the intended use you describe.
The request comes from the assistant provider's servers (OpenAI for ChatGPT, Anthropic for Claude), so we receive their network address, not yours. We do not receive your assistant account details or the rest of your conversation.
2. Why we use it
Only to find matching tracks and return the results, to prepare the enquiry email you asked for, and to keep the service secure and working, including limiting how many requests one network address can make. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing and protecting the service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
3. What we keep
We do not store your search text or the details of your enquiry. Our application logs record which function was used, how long it took, how many results it returned and an error code if it failed, without the search text.
Our hosting provider and our log storage provider keep request logs for up to 30 days and then delete them. These record the requesting network address and the web address called, not the content of the request, so they do not contain your search text.
An enquiry email is created on your device and is only sent if you send it yourself. If you do, we handle it like any other email we receive, as described in our general privacy policy.
4. Who processes it
Vercel Inc. hosts the app, with its functions running in the EU. Axiom, Inc. stores our request logs in the EU. Railway Corp. hosts our search service, and our own servers in Sweden compute what your search text means. Neither the search service nor our own servers store your search text.
The assistant provider you use (OpenAI for ChatGPT, Anthropic for Claude) processes your conversation under its own privacy policy.
5. Your choices and rights
We build no profile of you and use no tracking cookies in this app. You can stop using Mood Music Discovery at any time by removing it in your assistant's settings.
You have the rights described in our general privacy policy, including the right to complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
